People often ask, "Why Donkeys?" The answer is, because they are so much more than most people realize. Donkeys are often misunderstood, thought of as stubborn or difficult, when in reality they are incredibly smart, deeply social, and unimaginably sweet.
One of the most amazing things we’ve learned is that the part of a donkey’s brain that expresses emotion is the same relative size as that of a human. That means their feelings run just as deep—and they form strong bonds, both with each other and with the people who care for them.
Here at Long Ears Landing, we get to see their gentle hearts and loving personalities every single day. And once you truly know a donkey, you’ll never ask “Why donkeys?” again—you’ll only wonder how you ever lived without them.
Our Commitment
Long Ears Landing at Tailwinds Farm is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and providing a safe haven for donkeys in need.
